The COCA-COLA Collection: The Vintage Vending Machine Edition

After COCA-COLA was first developed in 1886, it was sold mainly at soda fountains. The COCA-COLA syrup was mixed with carbonated soda water. Later, when the drink caught on nationwide, the easiest way to get a cold glass of COCA-COLA was in a bottle, and the company developed various machines to deliver that bottle to the customer.

In the '30s, COCA-COLA was chilled in the Westinghouse Master. This unique and simple storage unit held 144 bottles (six cases) and used no electricity. The bottles were kept cold with ice only. Actually, there were four versions of this "vending machine": Small, Standard, Master and Giant, each with a different bottle capacity. When outlets began displaying these bright COCA-COLA vending machines, their next concern was to make sure they didn't run out of ice-cold COKE. Hence, the COCA-COLA delivery man became a favourite sight for managers and customers alike.

Now, the highly sought after Westinghouse Master vending machine and the international flare of COCA-COLA come together in an exciting die-cast replica of a 1932 Mercedes-Benz L5. Bearing the famous line "The Drink that Makes the Pause Refreshing," your model is produced by Matchbox Collectibles.
